FAQs and Errata:

As stated in the Army Selection segment the official Forge World documents will be in use as well as the 40k rules FAQ. Any issues that occur and have no answer will be treated with a ‘most logical’ approach. Please note that only FW classifications listed in these official forms will be accepted. At the end of this document there will be a summary of all rulings FAQs that has come to the Organizers attention. If there are any changes they will be confirmed 2 weeks before the event and will be posted on the event Facebook page.  Please note that we are making exceptions to the 40k rules FAQ which are listed below.

  • Grenades – We will not be following the updated FAQ on grenades specifically with regards to melta bombs. If you equip a squad with melta bombs every model equipped can use them in the assault phase.

  • New Space Marine Psychic Cards – Are not allowed at LANtasy

  • Invisibility - We will be following the ITC version of Invisibility which will be the following: “The Invisibility psychic power is altered to read: units shooting at the Invisible unit do so at BS1, and hit it in melee on a 5+.”

  • Drop Pods – Seeing that the draft FAQ’s are becoming the official FAQ’s we are going to rule on this now just to be safe and will rule that the doors on the drop pod don’t count towards the model and you are able to be shot through the drop pods no matter how they are modeled.

  • Look out Sir’s on Stomps - You may look out sir on stomp attacks.

Missions:

We will be running a combination of book six’s “Shadow War” missions as well as custom tactical mission cards that have been made specifically for the event which you will receive a copy of at the beginning of the event.

Gaming:

The LANtasy 30K event will consist of 5 games over 2 days (3 games Saturday, 2 games Sunday) the time limit for games will be 3 hours. The missions will be posted to the event Facebook page prior to the event. A large “Mega Battle” will take place after the Saturday games if there is interest.

The LANtasy 30K event will be using a Team style pairing system based on nominated faction ‘Generals’ matching Traitors versus Loyalists lists for each round. This will work in the following way; Team generals will make a roll off the winner of which will gain the initiative. Whichever team has the initiative for a round will nominate one of their players and the other team will select who that player will face and what table they will play on. Then the team that didn’t have the initiative for that round will in turn nominates one of their players and the opposing side will select a player that will face him/her. This will continue to alternate until all players have been paired up for the round.

At the prior to the start of every game players will have a 15 minute window to exchange up to 500 pts of units in their army lists.

Rules queries should first be looked up in the relevant books between the players in that game; if it is still unclear then a judge should be called to the table. If a judge is called to a table players will be asked to explain the situation and can give information to aid the decision but once made any decision is final. In addition please take a few minutes to go through your army with your opponent; this is especially important if you have nonstandard models.

The winner of each game will receive 3 Tournament points (TPs). If the game is a draw then both players will receive 1 TPs. The loser will score 0 TP.  1TP point each game if your army is fully painted.

Painting:

All models used at the LANtasy 30k event must be painted and based in an appropriate manner. This means that a nonstandard colour scheme is perfectly acceptable but undercoating a whole marine white and colour washing a few panels of armour and the gun in the same way is not, this is in no way related to the quality of painting. Any models not deemed up to standard will be removed from the table and will count as dead for gaming purposes. Proxies are not allowed, alternative miniatures/conversions are allowed. For models that come equipped as standard with Bolt Pistols as well as a larger gun there is no need to model these Bolt Pistols, basic Close Combat Weapons are assumed to be carried by every model without the need be shown on said model. Any specialist weapon must be modeled. In essence this means that the model you are using to represent another model must be appropriate and distinguishable as the gaming piece i.e WHYSIWYG to a reasonable degree "what you see is what you get". The aim is to allow freedom in the ‘hobby’ while maintaining a level of immersion and to avoid any negative effects on game play. If you have any models which you are worried about in terms of this then feel free to email victoriaheresy30k@gmail.com and a decision will be made and/or advice given.

Each army will be judged on painting by their fellow players and a vote will be held to nominate which Army is the Best Painted. An Army parade will be held after the second game where players can display their armies and vote.  Each player will get two votes: Best Painted and Runner-up.  Your Best Painted vote will be worth 3 points and your Runner-Up vote will be worth 1 point.  You are not allowed to vote for yourself. Armies displayed on a display board will grant 2 bonus points towards your painting score.

Event Dog Tags:

LANtsay will be the second event in the Victoria Heresy 30K series.  At the beginning of the event each player will be given a custom LANtsay 30K event Dog Tag that is able to be used in the LANtsay 30K event.  Each Dog Tag grants a special ability that can be used once per game. Can be used at future 30K events that are put on by the organizers.  Each player can use up to two dog tags in the LANtsay 30K (so bring yours if you’ve attended previous events) or future events but you can never use more tags than your opponent i.e. if its your second event but you are playing an opponent and it's his or her’s first event then you can only use one.

Sportsmanship:

Every player attending the LANtasy 30K event is expected to maintain a level of sporting behavior (i.e. don't be a dick i.e. “that guy”).  This event's main goal is to have fun and you should keep this in mind while playing your games.  It's not just about you having a good time but that your opponent is also having a good time.

To recognize those who go above and beyond, players will be asked to vote on their top 2 best sporting opponents in order. These votes will be tallied with 3 points going to the 1st player and 1 to the 2nd, whoever scores highest will win the Best Sportsman / Coolest Dude award.

Objective Markers:

Players are required to bring 6 objective markers to the event for use in some scenarios; these can be based on 25mm, 32mm or 40mm round bases. Fully painted objective markers will grant additional point to your painting score.

Game Map Token:

Each player will be given a map token to track their individual progress as well as their team's progress throughout the event on a detailed map.
